Sage 50 Error Code 1327usually occurs during installation, update, or uninstallation of the software. It happens when the system references a drive that doesn't exist or is not currently available, like a network or removable drive.
Common Causes of Sage 50 Error 1327: Invalid Drive
A mapped drive letter is disconnected or unavailable.
Incorrect registry path pointing to a non-existent drive.
External storage was removed during installation.
User profile or system folder is redirected to a missing drive.
Quick Fixes That Work
Fix 1: Reconnect the Drive Temporarily
Reconnect the network or external drive if it was disconnected.
Re-run the Sage 50 setup.
After installation, you can safely disconnect the drive again.
Fix 2: Map a Temporary Drive Letter
Open File Explorer.
Click This PC > Map Network Drive.
Assign the drive letter shown in the error (e.g., Z:).
Use any existing local folder (e.g., C:\Temp) as the target path.
Re-run the installation.
This tricks the installer into thinking the drive exists.
Fix 3: Edit the Registry (Advanced Users Only)
Warning: Editing the Windows Registry can cause system issues. Back up your registry before proceeding.
Press Windows + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
Navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
Look for any entries pointing to an invalid drive (e.g., Z:\Documents).
Change them to a valid path (e.g., C:\Users\YourName\Documents).
Close Registry Editor and restart the computer.
Try installing Sage 50 again.
Fix 4: Use Microsoft Fix It Tool (Legacy Option)
If you're using an older version of Windows, try using Microsoft’s Fix It utility to automatically repair drive issues:
